My bf and I dined here NYE and although the service was friendly our entrees were not. Everything we had either came out cold or overcooked. My bf and I never complain usually when dining in any place or send food back, because we find that to be rude, but we should have because our check was nearly $300 for terrible food, lol!! The best part about our dine-in was the bottle of sauvignon blanc and the red piano is right next to this restaurant in which we both love the red piano bar.

I've been here twice now for lunch with clients. It's a nice atmosphere and you can continue to talk shop over lunch as it's not too loud. Both times we've all just done the lunch buffett because we were short on time. Both times it was just ok. This last time they were using iceberg lettuce on the salad portion which was a huge bummer. You'd hope for a better selection here but nope. They usually give you two options of meat and this time it was grilled tilapia and brisket with a fancy sounding sauce that just turned out to be BBQ pork loin actually. Still it was tasty.

We recently dined at the Table One at the Park Avenue Grill. The food was amazing. It had such variety, and each dish was delicious. The wine/drink pairing was perfect. The chef explained each dish and the waitress and manager explained each pairing. We had a great evening, and we definitely plan to do it again.

What has happened to the Park Grill? Three years ago this was the best restaurant in OKC. The beef wellington was the most amazing dish my husband and I have ever eaten and we are world travelers. They have obviously lost that chef and hired one lacking in passion. We love the Skirvin and the staff take such good care of us. We are diamond members and we are always upgraded and spoiled by the Skirvin. The weekend brunch and breakfast are always a treat which must be manned by a different chef. When it comes to the evening chef I would recommend staying far away from this restaurant. We spent so much money on our anniversary dinner which included the pork chop and roast beef. It was awful! My husband's roast beef was so dry it was inedible. And my pork chop was ok but not worth 27 dollars. The sides sucked as well. We sent back my husband's meal and ordered the escargot and we just shared my meal. I left starving, broke, and unsatisfied. We also made reservations mentioning it was a special anniversary and they did nothing special. They did not even mention it. My husband pulled aside the hostess and asked her if they do anything for anniversaries and she said she would tell the chef. Still we heard nothing. On the other hand my parents came here for their anniversary for Sunday brunch and they were beyond spoiled. They even made them something special with their names on it. Like I said there is definitely a different chef for the brunch. I really hope this restaurant will make some changes soon and bring this once OKC gem back.

I went for dinner and breakfast incident to a stay at the Skirvin Hilton. I love the dining room (light, airy, decor; comfortable chairs; even better banquettes). The menu is boring but the food is well executed. I really liked the carrot cake. Their coffee blend is great. Service was very competent if not particularly friendly.

I really hate to give this restaurant a one star rating, I really do. But I would be doing a severe injustice to others were I to rate it any higher based on my love of its location in the Skirvin Hotel. This one star review is the culmination of at least ten mediocre to fair to poor dining experiences I've had here over the years but I will focus the majority on my last experience on New Year's Eve 2012. I stay at the Skirvin often and it is a world class hotel. The fact that they do not have a restaurant worthy of equal praise is a shame. It has all the ambiance and charm of the Skirvin and harkens back to an earlier era. It is beautifully appointed, well maintained and would be the perfect place for a celebration, romantic dinner or just a nice night out but it is not. I always come here with my expectations high only to have them ameliorated by poor food, even poorer service and an insultingly large bill. My latest experience here was my own fault. Every year I stay at the Skirvin for a few days to ring in the New Year, it has become sort of a tradition of mine since leaving my beloved NYC. I had every intention of booking New Year's Eve dinner somewhere else but a last minute work trip and poor planning with my friends left us reservationless on New Year's Eve. So, not really wanting to have to grease any palms to go anywhere we got them to squeeze us in. And squeeze us in they did, into the tiniest little booth in the back, and they squeezed our wallets to the tune of... well I even hesitate to say but for a party of four it was quite absurd for no better than it was. The New Year's Eve menu was a four course prix fixe, which should have been my first clue. I hate prix fixe menus and always prefer to order menu items but that was all they were offering. The first course was a not a choice at all but basically some kind of pitted olive wrapped with a piece of prosciutto. I forget the tony name they attempted to give it but that's basically what it was. The second course was a choice between a few soups. Everyone in my party opted for the Lobster bisque. This was a high point as it was somewhat edible. I wouldn't say it was great but it wasn't bad. Our third course was a choice of meat items, a chicken breast, some type of steak and a fish dish. Again, we all opted for the chicken breast so I can't comment on the others. This chicken breast came on a bed of black eyed peas (that tasted straight out of the can) with some piece of smallish unidentifiable meat that (and I kid you not) looked and tasted like spam! And the garnish on top of the chicken was their piece of cornbread, but it was in a pancake shape and curiously tasted like one too. It was bizarre to basically have a chicken and waffle dish in such upscale diggs. I'd have rather been at a chicken and waffle place... The chicken was dry and rather tasteless. It was just bad. And supposedly they had recruited a new chef earlier this year but he needs to go back from whence he came. The final option was desert and it actually wasn't an option as it was a piece of chocolate cake artfully arranged on its side. It wasn't bad either but was just mediocre. To add insult to injury, the service throughout this experience was tremendously terrible...our waitress was absent most of the evening and we had to flag her down several times. I will say the secondary waitstaff couldn't have been nicer. They were working as quickly as they could (as it was crowded) to refill waters and drinks. Thankfully, we all had ordered a drink before dinner. I decided to class it up with a scotch and water and our waitress who was devoid of humor asked me what scotch I preferred I jokingly said Heaven Hill. Any poor college student probably has taken a shot or three of any Heaven Hill product. They corner the market on plastic bottle liquors. Immediately after saying that I said I didn't have a preference as I'm no annoying expert on liquors or anything. She quickly (which was a first and a last for her) returned to say that she was sorry but they didn't have Heaven Hill... Seriously? Even devoid of a sense of humor I wouldn't have minded had she taken a cursory interest in our table while we ate. We were offered some champagne as we were seated by the hostess and noticed that other tables were having theirs refilled quite often. Incorrectly, we assumed that the champagne was free and part of the New Year's festivities. Oh were we wrong...and its not like they were giving out Cristal...it was some kind of cheap Ballatore. But that's ok by me because I've actually had Cristal and I can't tell it apart from any other champagne. We finally received our bill and she had the audacity to mention that the table next to us were poor tippers! I couldn't believe it! Now, I'm never one to complain at a restaurant I just feel it is in poor taste. I just do what others do - complain anonymously on Yelp! A terrible experience!

I have only eaten breakfast at Park Avenue Grill, but I was pleased with the meal. I had breakfast at Park Avenue Grill on a Saturday. It was about halfway full. I sat down intending to order off the menu, but then I discovered they have a breakfast bar. It's $19 and that includes drinks (soft drinks, juices, coffee) and the following: eggs/omelets made to order, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits/gravy, fruit, cereal, hash browns, meats and cheeses including salmon, and various breads. I would say it's a good deal even if $20 for a breakfast buffet seems a tad high. The guy manning the omelet station was a master. Fantastic scrambled eggs. The biscuits were hot and fluffy, so I must have gotten them close to when they were put out. Usually biscuits left in a heated bin like this aren't so good, but these were. The gravy is solid, it was a tad too thin, but seasoned well. Sausage is links, they are thick and juicy and weren't overcooked. Bacon wasn't as strong, but still, it's bacon. So, that's good. Pancakes are small, not silver dollar, but not plate sized. They are regular thickness, which means they are too thick for me. I prefer thin crispy pancakes. But, these were decent and served with warm syrup. Service was great, I had my check immediately and never had to ask for a refill, there was always someone coming around. I'd definitely eat here again, and want to try the lunch.

How can you not like this place? The atmosphere is top notch and the wine list is extensive. While both of these are certainly reason enough to post a favorable review, the fact that the restaurant is in the lobby of one of the greatest hotels in the US, sets Park Ave apart. I have long been a fan of The Skirvin, its bar, The Red Piano, but mostly the staff who go out of their way to accommodate. The hotel is in a historic building in the heart of Downtown OKC and cannot be outdone for ambiance and setting. #VASTisAlrightToo Now on to the dining....We split apps and wine, as per our often repeated move. The risotto was delish, the calamari was tops, and the wine was delightful. I'm not often impressed by meals and this one is par for the course. But a bad round of golf at Pebble Beach is probably the best round of anyone's life. The setting at Skirvin sets the perfect mood for any occasion. Cheers!

Very creative Sunday brunch pairings leaning to creative non-traditional. Noon to 2 features Edgar Cruz playing live classical guitar. I'm having Salmon tartar; garnished with quail egg sunny side up and battered fresh Squash Blossom! JB has spray of fruit featuring watermelon drizzled with balsamic paired with feta cheese wrapped charred sugar beets. Entree of Quail & Waffles featured succulently butter braised quail breast and honey. Park One Benedict enticed me with bacony crispy Prosciutto and delightfully poached coddled egg. The Hash Browned potato tower beautifully crunchy and brown. Bloody Mary bar self serve. These guys really exceeded our expectations!

Environment was very nice, old school charm. Not especially quiet with hard floors and close tables. Service was okay, not equal with a $100 dinner with no alcohol. The French onion soup was disappointing-the reviews said it was signature for them but not very tasty, large crostini took up much of the bowl, cheese not even broiled and bubbly on top. Hubby has salmon, was okay with better salmon at our country club. I had the butter fish which was good but not especially tasty. Tuna tar tar appetizer was good but again not mind-blowing. Probably will not return as much better places for nice dinner in OKC.

This review is for breakfast and because it was the only place open downtown on the 4th of July. I loved it because it was a really pretty place and they had HEALTHY options for breakfast (yeeeee) like the granola which came with yogurt, milk, and berries and it was lovely. But they also had OTHER THINGS I COULD ACTUALLY EAT like a fruit plate and egg white veggie omelet that my dining buddy got and that looked really good. They also put slices of cucumber in the water. Score. And the people (staff) were soooo nice without being stuffy (cause it looked like a pretty fancy place). You get my four stars, sir.

This is based on their lunch menu and service. I arrived for a lunch meeting and this was probably the first time I had ventured out of the office after starting my job back in August. I was impressed with the entry way to the Skirvin and thought the dining room looked classy and expensive. I ordered the grilled cheese with a side of fries. The cheese was warm and gooey upon arrival, but the bread was really too crunchy for me. My gums hurt after eating the first half. The french fries were nothing to write home about. I enjoyed our waitress who was very friendly, attentive and quick. My beverage glass was never empty!

My family likes to stop at the Park Avenue Grill for dinner on the way to watch the Thunder play. As I recall they have free valet parking and let us keep the car there while we were at the game. Obviously you should talk to the attendant when you park though in case they have changed their policy. This visit, however, was for lunch. On to the food... Their French Onion soup is superb. The soup is topped with toasted French bread and a generous amount of cheese. I also ordered a chicken salad sandwich which was OK. I wasn't paying attention to the ingredients (which are listed on the menu for each dish) when I ordered and failed to notice their chicken salad included pistachios--of which I am not a fan. However, I do feel like even if I liked the little green nuts the sandwich would still have been average at best.

I'm reviewing the Skirvin"s Park Avenue Grill EASTER Brunch/Buffet. We showed up at 1045 for reservations for ten and we waited about five minutes in line and only ten minutes in a very nice holding room with comfortable couches, chairs, coffee, juices, teas, and hot chocolate. We were seated promptly at 1100 at a wonderful round table with plenty of room for all. We had valet parked for free so we were about 12 minutes from car to table which I thought was exceptional for an Easter meal. The grand ball room was absolutely beautiful with EASTER pastels on all the tables and Easter decorations as centerpieces on each table. Tables were spaced out allowing very easy conversation in our group with hardly any noises to hinder our normal volume conversation! SPLENDID! I don't want to just eat, we also like to talk! There was a harp player and the music was tasteful and pleasant. We brought my three year old and nine year old and our Freinds who have two toddlers as well and we actually over heard an older lady in front of us in line remark "I can't believe they're bringing those young children to this event" Well I politely informed the lady we bring our children every where except date night and usually they're better behaved than some adults. (Which they were) I kindly told her I'll send a mimosa to her table. The skirvin always welcomes children and in fact this year they set up a children's room with cartoons and wait staff to bring the children anything they desired!! BRILLIANT!! The food; medium rare prime rib, carved turkey and ham, many more lunch items (which I usually skip) breakfast items including deluxe omelets while you wait, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, waffles with strawberries and fresh whip cream, virtually every type of fruit imaginable, melons, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, oranges, tangerines, and grapes. The seafood station was fully stocked with king crab legs, jumbo peeled boiled shrimp, huge bowl of sushi grade Ahi Tuna, oysters on the half shell, wild caught smoked salmon with capers along with baked salmon. The dessert bar (with over fifty different types of heaven!) was all extremely fresh home baked pastries, eclairs, cakes, cheese cakes, pies........fabulous quality and assortment!! The Park Avenue Grill kept everything stocked and available, no waiting, very small fast lines of only two or three people. Tip of the day, if you want the best experience at the ultra high end buffets such as this, always make reservations for right when they open. It has usually served us very well. My hat's off to the Skirvin's Park Avenue Grill for another unsurpassed experience in Oklahoma City! I don't mind paying $50 per adult and $24 per child 6-12, and our toddler was free when the variety, quality, atmosphere, ambiance, service, cleanliness, and over all experience is this good! ONLY 2 detractors that I saw and they were very very minor...... They had a bar that was suppose to be cash only until I talked to the manager (I don't carry cash), and on our way out I spied just one bus tray with a couple of plates with ready to be discarded food on them sitting in plain view against the wall. Other than that, perfect! Fantastic for family (EASTER BUNNY was making the rounds) or to really spoil that hot date.......

Chances are that if you're staying at the Skirvin Hotel you'll end up eating at least one meal here because there didn't seem to be too many other restaurants in the area. In the 30 hours that I spent in Oklahoma City I ended up here twice. The first time was for a quick lunch right after I first arrived at the hotel. My colleague and I were famished and pleased to see the lunch prices at the Park Avenue Grill weren't too pricey. The buffet seemed to be a popular lunch option, but we skipped that and ordered the sour orange cilantro chicken salad. It had was really tasty and I especially liked the brown rice they put in the salad. We returned that night for dinner (yep, twice in 1 day!). The menu was much pricier for dinner. The servers here were on it. Perhaps too on it because I felt like I was asked at least 12 times if I was enjoying my meal. As for if I enjoyed it? Sure. I'm not a big meat eater so I ordered two appetizers: the tuna two ways and the asian pear & arugula. Both were good, but didn't blow me away for the price. Then again most people would order a steak here so perhaps it isn't quite fair to judge them on non meat options. The next day we were hungry for lunch, but couldn't quite do a 3rd meal at the Park Avenue Grill. Instead we walked 10 or so minutes to The Wedge, which was probably my favorite meal while in Oklahoma City. When back in OKC I'd be up for another meal here (preferably lunch) if staying at the Skirvin, but I'd rather check out some of the other restaurants in this city.

I've eaten here several times since my initial review. The place has become merely average. With the magnificent surroundings and quality of the hotel, I expect much more from the restaurant.

The steak was perfectly medium rare. The asparagus was crisp, flavorful and tender. I am watching my calories so I didn't order some of the gorgeous sounding parings they offered. I had to stop myself at one roll though I could have eaten the whole basket. Service was splendid. The Maitre D took my coat and then came back to the table to tell me something hard had slapped him in the leg and it might be my phone. Why thank you, yes. I would like my phone. Now, in full disclosure, I wasn't paying and if I was going to pay 30 dollars for a steak I would probably go to Red Prime but it was perfectly lovely and you can't beat the classic decor of the Skirvin. The chairs were low and comfy but I was there for business so it was hard to feel like I could slouch back into them. I felt appropriately dressed in a black skirt and heels but I don't think they'd mind if you were in jeans. It is Oklahoma after all.
